About Us

Greenfield Farmers Cooperative Exchange was founded in 1918 by local farmers with the goal of saving money on feed, seed and other supplies. There was no physical store, farmers would pick up products from a train on a siding in Deerfield. Eventually a storage building was added, bagged feed and other products were available. As business grew, a branch was opened on Main Street in Greenfield and then expanded again at our current location on High Street.

Today at 109 years young, the CoOp showroom covers 12,000 square feet with additional warehouses, a greenhouse and outdoor nursery. We carry more than 22,000 items for the farm, home or garden. Currently there are more than 1.000 farmer members, but you don’t have to be a member to shop here.
